My child is too small. How do I know his sight is normal or not?

As a concerned parent, you are always worried for your kids. Their eyes are their windows to the world, their visual link to life.

Browse this checklist to see if something is amiss.

		Observe your child.
		Is he behaving in any way that arouses suspicion?
		Ask your child to close one eye and offer him a toy from your hand. A normal child will take it straight from your hand. Is he struggling to locate the toy?
		For a slightly older child, ask him to recognize small figures, say triangle or square or rectangle. Does he recognize these figures correctly?
		Is there any deviation of the eyes?
		Does he watch TV from a very close distance in spite of repeated warnings to shift behind?
		Is he tilting his head in any one direction every now and then?
		Does he complain of inability to see the black board in his school?
		Does he hold his book too close to his face while reading?
		Does he complain of frequent headaches?
