There are various reasons why we feel stressed. It could be due to work pressure, the demise of a near and dear one, a disorganized lifestyle, financial worry etc. Take these actions to help cope with stress. If it still persists, get professional help:

Take up some form of exercise.

Learn a relaxation technique.

Ensure your diet is balanced and healthy.

Get some fresh air.

Build short breaks into your day.

Clarify your goals and priorities, at home as well as at work.

Get organized.

Know you own strengths and limitations and accept yourself as you are.

Get problems out in the open and search for solutions. Don’t bottle it all up behind a brave face.

Aim for variety in your life and work.

‘Do it now!’ taking action or making decisions with at least partly remove tension.

Address problems in relationships; use third parties to help if necessary.

Cut down on alcohol and tobacco.

Laugh at yourself [It’s better than crying!]

Make the most of your holidays-have a real break; do something different.

Accept that you need to do something about your stress!
