Picture this - It’s raining outside and you are sitting comfortably with a book in hand and a cup of coffee by your side. Wisps of steam rise from your coffee and the aroma is enticing you. You pick it up and take the very first sip which will give you a heavenly taste but as you sip, you realize that you have forgotten to add the sugar! Too lazy to limber up, you somehow struggle through the sugarless cup of coffee only to see the sugar crystals merrily sitting at the bottom of the cup.
Sometimes people are like that too. Their behaviour and external appearance belie their internal persona. We always tend to judge people at the outset, as soon as we meet them.
Size them up and in all probability dismiss them the next instant. We miss out on opportunities to befriend wonderful people and more often than not end up complaining about everybody other than ourselves.
Do not be quick to judge anyone. Try not to be led astray by external appearance or behaviour. The most important aspect of a person is his goodness. And like beauty, this too is not just skin deep.

Does the concept of peace appeal to you? A world without wars, terrorist attacks, and internal strife as of today exists only in dreams. Can an individual change this? Many people find this far fetched.
Why is it so hard to believe? A few dedicated people can offset the ill effects of masses of out-of-harmony people. When tension is as easy to spark off as a strike of a match, and communal disharmony ranks foremost, treading the path of peace is not only essential but also an effective medicine. So we who work for peace must not falter, we must continue to pray for peace and to act for peace in whatever way we can. The need of the hour is for people who are willing to work for peace.
We need to think of peace, speak for peace and practice to live in peace. And above all know it is possible to achieve peace.
Soulspeak ”Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will live as one.” --John Lennon
