• How often have you thought of religion as a necessary tool? • Thought it to be true because it is necessary? • Probably you have thought in a skewed manner. • You have been following religion out of fear or favour.
Do not consider religion to be necessary and hence true, instead, religion is true and hence necessary.
How often do you feel one with the Supreme Being? How often do you feel his Presence within you? Culling, nurturing and protecting you? Often, not so often, never…? Maybe it is time that you did a rethink on your relationship with Him.
Break down all barriers of self, ego, wants, desires, dreams and pains and let the sense of God permeate through you. Let every living fiber within your body reverberate with the essence of God. Allow His love to wash over your senses and allow Him to absorb you in his Omnipotent presence.
We are God's own creation. A spark of the Divine Spark and thus carry the inherent goodness that is found in Him. We are a reflection of His intent and ideas. We are Him and most truly represent His ideals when we become wholly holy.
I was once walking across the seashore and saw two sets of footprints in the sand. I looked on and to my surprise saw the scenes of my life flash across one set. In the other, the face of God smiled genially at me.
He was there by my side when I was a child, looked on affectionately on my adolescent steps. As a youth when I dreamed and desired, He smiled benevolently. I gazed and saw that God had always been by my side, save for some rough patches.
Anguished, I looked up at the sky and said, "God, you had promised to be by my side throughout, why then did you leave me through my leanest moments?"
"Look closely my child," whispered God, "during your lean moments it was I who carried you across turbulent times. Those are my footprints that you see in the sand…'
