A Recipe To Beat The Summertime Blues!

Watermelon or tarbuz sorbet
—it’s a must in the summer season.

Here’s why:

• The fruit itself contains a large quantity of water.
• Calorie conscious people can gorge on watermelon as it satisfies your hunger and the calorie intake is minimal.
• Watermelon is mildly laxative in nature, so it keeps constipation at bay.
• Watermelon has small brown seeds embedded in its flesh. Deseed the fruit for making the juice, salt the seeds, dry and roast. These seeds are also good for health.

Prep Time: 20
Min Servings: 2 Tall Glasses

Ingredients:

• 3 Large Bowls Of Roughly Cut, Deseeded Watermelon Pieces Sugar (Optional)
• 1 Tsp Chaat Masala
• 1 Large Bowl Of Finely Cut Cubes Of Watermelon
• Crushed Ice To Serve

Method:

• Blend smoothly the roughly cut pieces of watermelon and chaat masala in a liquidizer.
• Serve chilled with crushed ice and the finely cut cubes of watermelon fruit.
 

Grape Punch To Cool Your Summers!


Mr. Anoop from Bangalore sent us this amazing recipe for grape punch! It’s cooling, refreshing and delicious…

Ingredients:

• Black Grapes (The variety with seed)
• 1 Litre or 8 cups of Water
• 2 Cups of Sugar
• 1 Litre Vanilla Ice Cream
• 2 Ripe Bananas (the green variety)

Method:

• Wash and separate the grapes
• Boil with 8 cups of water and 2 cups of sugar for around 20-25 mins.
• Sieve it using a large sized sieve to remove the skin and seeds.
• Take two cups of this liquid and beat well in the mixer along with the bananas and two to three table spoons of ice-cream.
• Pour this back into the liquid, stir and refrigerate.

To Serve :

• Take a tall glass
• Pour the Grape Punch into the glass.
• Top up with a dollop of ice cream and decorate with grapes/ cherries.

Garnish:

Take a pear, peel and chop into tiny pieces. Sprinkle the freshly chopped pieces over the punch for a crunchy feel.
