Once youíve got your date, you might find it a problem picking up a line of conversation (donít worry, youíre not the only one). Donít force it. Luckily for you girls love to talk. So just sit back and relax. You will be amazed how within seconds sheís got a conversation going.
ē You can make polite attempts to steer it towards topics that interest you. But once it gets to something close to your heart --- like, say, cricket --- donít take over.
ē Give her a chance to talk about her favourite cricketers, matches etc.
ē Most men make the mistake of launching into a long speech once they get a chance to talk about something they feel they know much about.
ē So if by the end of the evening youíre still talking about cricket, chances are that youíve bored her. And that ends your chance of a second date.
It is taken for granted that the man should pay. But there are other options, of course, the best one being that the two of you split the bill. Another good option is that the person who initiated the date pays. After all, itís bad manners to invite somebody out, and then wait for her to pay. So if youíre the one who called her out, donít be reluctant in getting out that wallet.
Getting a date is the easy part. Converting it into a second date (and a third, and aÖ) is tougher. Many guys boast about the number of women theyíve been out with. What they wonít tell you is that none of these women agreed to meet them again. Here are some things to avoid, if you want to ensure that your first date does transform into a longer-term relationship of substance.
The biggest mistake guys make is that they try too hard to impress. Yes, we know that you have to make an impression, but donít go overboard. If you keep talking about your educational qualifications, or your biceps, sheís bound to get bored, or may even see your efforts as a sign of desperation.
Another thing you can avoid is touching here. Sure, shake her hand, but donít keep pawing her at every opportunity you get. Also, donít go on talking about her body. Sheíll certainly know whatís on your mind then.
Finally, try picking up the tab. You donít have to do it on the subsequent dates, but for the first one, pick it up. You donít want to be mistaken for a miser, right?
