Q: Sir, I request you to help me out on my problems! I am 41 years old lady & have normal hairs. In my teenage & 20”s I had black ,shiny, silky, voluminous longer than waist length hairs cause at that at that time I used eggs on my hairs but unfortunately after marriage due to family customs I was compelled to stop using eggs, since then my hairs faced a very hard period for first 4 to 6 months they falled like anything and there after they have Lost there volume the growth is very poor i.e it seems that they do not grow at all cause since last 10 years the length is just stable & too smaller than earlier. presently I am using Himalaya herbals anti dandruff shampoo once in 5 to 6 days, a herbal oil 2to3 times a month, boutique hair tonic once a week. I can not afford highly expensive products. piz sir just provide me with your valuable advice to bring back my lost glamour. THANKFULLY MANJU

A: Dandruff, nutritional deficiencies, stress, etc., can also be the cause of hair loss. Please check if you have dandruff. You should wash your hair with a mild herbal shampoo at least twice a week. Have hot oil treatment once a week. Heat pure coconut oil and apply on the scalp without massage. Leave on overnight. Next morning, apply the juice of a lemon on the scalp and wash your hair after half an hour. You can try using Shatone hair tonic daily. It is to be applied at night on the scalp, using cotton wool. Include fresh fruits, salads, sprouts and curd in your daily diet. Ask your doctor to prescribe vitamin and mineral supplements.

Q: Hello Madam, I'm 32 yr working mom of a 1& 1/2 yr kid. Will u pl. suggest my daily beauty care regime?I hva combination skin in face. Hv under eye circle also. My body skin is dry. I have combination hair with oily scalpel & dry ends. Once I have tried your night replenishing cream, but got pimples after that .Pl. help me out madam. Also I'm staying at such a place where I don't get your products of the shelf. Can I get them thru net? Thnx

A: For a combination skin, cleanse with Shamoon and wipe the skin with Sharose using cotton wool. Do not use creams, specially on the oily parts. As you may have seen on the label, the night cream is for normal to dry skin. Two or three times a week use Shamask 1 on entire face. Heat pure coconut oil and apply on the scalp once a week at night, leaving it on all night. Use a mild herbal shampoo like Shahenna, mixing 2 teaspoons Sharinse. Use a body lotion immediately after bathing, while the skin is still damp. Use a mild glycerine soap on the body. You can also try massaging the body skin with sesame seed (till) oil or Shaherb body massage oil before bathing. Our products are available on www.tofah.com

Q: I am 23 yrs girl. I have some pores near my nose from which oils comes. This leads to pimples problem. I also consult to a doctor, but no gain. Please tell me the way that my skin looks like baby skin.

A: Use Shazema or a cleanser for oily skin twice a day. After cleansing, wipe the skin with Sharose, using cotton wool. You can use Sharose 3 or 4 times a day. When you get pimples, apply Shaclear only on the pimples and leave on all night.

Q: hi, I just joined infosy in pune one month ago, and from the first day my hair started falling at very high rate, i am using head and shoulder from last 4 years and this is my problem for the first time year 22; hair-dry; oil used for hair: cococnut

A: Stress can cause hair loss. If the water contains too much chlorine or other chemicals, it can also cause hair loss. Change in the diet can cause hair loss too. Use Shatone daily on the scalp, applying it at night and leaving on all night. Use a mild herbal shampoo - use less shampoo and rinse well with water. Include fresh fruits, salads, sprouts and curd in your daily diet and ask your doctor to prescribe vitamin and mineral supplements. Do some deep breathing exercises daily.

Q: Dear madam, I have a fair complexion. but for the past couple of months I've some dark patches around my mouth. can this be caused as a result of bleaching? could you please suggest me any natural remedy?

A: It may be caused by bleaching, but one cannot say for sure. Mix besan with curd and apply this daily around the mouth and wash it off after 20 minutes. You can also try applying Shafair around the mouth, but not on the lips, once daily, in the evening.

Q: Dear Madam, my hair is very dry and it is till shoulders. I want to grow my hair and please tell me something about dry hair

A: Have weekly oil treatments. Heat pure coconut oil and apply on the scalp and hair. Leave it on all night,. Use mild herbal shampoos. Harsh shampoos can cause dryness. Avoid hair dryers and chemical lotions, which also cause dryness. If you use colour, you should apply conditioner after colouring. Weekly henna treatments will also help. Mix 4 teaspoons each of lemon juice and coffee, 2 raw eggs, 2 teaspoons hair oil and enough curd to the henna powder to mix into a paste.

Q: I am a 16 yr old girl. I have started taking safi to improve my skin but after taking hamdard safi more and more pimples have come out on my face. is this due to side effect or is this a good sign that my face will get cleaned please reply soon thank you

A: Yes, these preparations can sometimes cause more pimples, because they cleanse the system and remove toxins. You should also avoid taking fried foods, cola drinks and too many sweets. Include fresh fruits, salads, sprouts and curd in your daily diet. Use a medicated cleanser like Shazema twice a day. Wipe the skin with Sharose 3 or 4 times a day. At night, after cleansing, apply Shaclear on the pimples only and leave on all night. This will stop the condition from spreading.

Q: dull complextion

A: You have not mentioned your skin type. Use cleanser and toner according to your skin type. Use a facial scrub according to skin type 2 or 3 times a week. Use a facial mask according to skin type 2 or 3 times a week.

Q: I want to fair my coplexion by natural.the colour of my neck is very dark and colour of my face is fair.and also colour of my under arms is dark.what can i do .pls tell me some home made solutoin bacause i am in kuwait.i want to change colour.2nd i want to increase me brest size.it looks too small.olive iol massage will help to increase or not. pls reply me as soon as possible. waiting

A: You can mix besan with curd, adding a pinch of haldi. Apply this on the dark areas daily before bathing. Wash off after 20 minutes. Increasing the breasts can be done by exercising the shoulder muscles. Massage can be tried, but the breasts have no muscles. Yes, you can use olive oil.

Q: I am 26 and have grey hairs. I have been using henna for the past 3 years now.But the color goes in 15 days , please let me know if i can us e hair color to color my hair. If so, which one do I use. I have thick black, wavy and dry hair.

A: Grey Hair Your hair is probably graying because of genetics( you can't do much about this). Secondly, it could be because of some medicine you are taking (like antibiotics) when you stop taking these medicines your hair greying should stop. A third possibility is that you not washing out all the shampoo from your hair. Rinse properly. Maybe you could resort to hair dyeing or using henna once a fortnight (mix coffee powder and lemon juice and make a thick consistency of this pack) to camouflage the grey hair.

Have curry leaves paste empty stomach, this will restrict further development of grey hair. Also use Curry leaves in your curry a lot. Supplement your diet with green leafy vegetables and lots of fresh fruit juices. Loreal, Garnier, Revlon, etc are equally good. You could try anyone of this. Cheer
s!

Q: My maternal uncle has the problem of skin allergy. The recent tests diagnosed it as allergy for Gajar Ghas. He has got rashes all around his neck, on the face and hands too. These are the watery rashes. The situation worsens as he moves out in the sun. His patch test reports say that he has allergy for Nitrofurazone and Parthenium. Is there any kind of vaccination available for the same or what do you suggest we should do?

A:
There is a process called desensitisation by which this can be treated for this you have to take injection of the anti-dote twice a week for six months and yearly maintenance doses afterwards. This is done only at certain institutaions like Nanavati Hospital. The condition is temporarily treated with oral steroids for example Betnesol twice daily for three days and gradually tapered under medical supervision and local application of Flucort lotions. But none of this is to be done without proper dermatologist guidance.

Q: I have completed B.tech in cosmetology. I want to persue a carrier in dermatology. please guide me about a course in dermatology where the eligibility is not M.B.B.S . PLEASE send info about it as soon as possible.

A:
I am sorry but dermatology is a certified branch of medicine for which no courses for non MBBS degree holders exist.

Q: Please tell me is there any sure shot solution for teh pits & scars fromed due top imples & acne.also tell me wht cud be doen to stop hair loss.

A: You will appreciate that scars form due to destruction of skin tissue. That is why it is much better to treat acne and control the condition, so that scarring does not occur. You can visit a Shahnaz Herbal clinic for vegetable peeling treatments. That helps to minimize scarring to a great extent. If you want to try products at home and provided you do not have acne now, you can mix Shagrain with Sharose and apply on the areas with scars. Rub gently and wash off with water. This is a daily treatment. Mix Shabase with Shasilk and apply on the entire face and keep on as a daytime cover. At night, after cleansing, apply Shablem on the scars by rubbing it into the skin and leave on all night. If you do not have acne, apply Shamask 1 three times a week on the entire face. For hair loss, apply Shatone daily on the scalp at night, using cotton wool. Use mild herbal shampoos. Include sprouts and curd in your daily diet and ask your doctor to prescribe vitamin and mineral supplements.

Q: I am 28 years old. For severe acne, my face is full hole like scars Tell me some products which I can use in home

A: You have not mentioned if you still have acne. Home remedies do not help in controlling acne, specially scars. I would suggest you visit a skin-care clinic and have scar removal treatments. The Shahnaz Herbal clinics offer vegetable peel treatment for scars. If you mention the name of your city/town, we will let you know the closest Shahnaz Herbal clinic. As a home remedy, you can apply sandalwood paste on the acne once daily. If you do not have acne, you can mix rice flour with curd and apply on the areas with scars (BUT NOT ON ACNE). Rub gently and wash off with water.

Q: I am suffering from the Acne pimples problem and so much dark marks on my face my skin is oily suggest me medicine please thanks

A: You should use cleanser, toner, moisturizer and mask for oily skin and acne. In the morning cleanse face with Shazema medicated cleanser and wipe the skin with Sharose. Apply curd on the entire face and wash it off after 20 minutes. Once a day, apply Shaclove mixed with Shaderm only on the pimples/acne. At night, after cleansing with Shazema, wipe with Sharose and apply Shaclear only on the pimples/acne and leave on all night. Apply Shablem on the dark marks by rubbing it into the skin and leaving on all night.

Q: hi, madam, my skin is very dry. I am 33 yrs old. please can u suggest daily treatment for my skin type. i go to office sit in an a\c environment, travel in ac car. I get small redness boils around sides of nose and on cheeks. pls help me out. pis tell me which facial should be done for dry skin. if u suggest your products pls tell me where can I get them from. looking for an early reply from u

A: You probably have dry skin sensitivity, caused by habitual lack of moisture. Avoid soap and use Shacleanse twice a day, applying it on the skin and wiping off with moist cotton wool. Apply Shamoist mixed with Shabase as a daytime cover. At night, after cleansing, apply Shalife and massage it on the face, using a little water. Wipe off with moist cotton wool. If the skin still feels dry, apply Shamoist and leave on. Our products are available on www.tofah.com

Q: Dear doctor, I have a dark complextion. These days i get a lot of blackheads which turn out to painful acnes. My skin seems to look very dry and sometimes it seems to look as if my skin is shrinked. Request you to kindly advise a good solution to my problem. Thanks & Regards Salomina.

A: Blackheads and acne actually occur on oily skin. But your skin may be having dryness of the outermost layer of the skin. This can happen by the use of harsh soaps/cleansers or by washing the face with soap too many times in the day. As a home remedy, apply curd on the face daily and wash it off with water after 20 minutes. This will soften the skin and also restore the normal balance. Cleanse your face twice a day with a medicated cleanser, like Shazema. Wipe the face with Sharose skin tonic. For blackheads, mix Shagrain with Sharose, Apply this on the blackheads, BUT NOT ON ACNE OR PIMPLES. Rub the mixture gently on the skin and wash off with water. At night, after cleansing, apply Shaclear only on the acne or pimple. Leave it on all night.

Q: hi. I am 24 yrs old from Hyderabad. I have dark marks on my skin resulting from some skin disorder when i was a kid. the marks have not yet gone. I tried many things. please can u give me some home remedy or other remedy to fade this marks. plz reply me soon

A: You can use a facial scrub, according to your skin type, rubbing it gently on the areas with dark marks and washing off with water. After cleansing, apply Shawhite lotion on the marks. After that, use a moisturiser or sunscreen if you are going out in the sun. In the evening, apply Shafair on the dark marks. At night, after cleansing, apply Shablem on the marks, rubbing it into the skin and leaving it on all night. Once daily, at anytime, apply curd on the entire face and wash off after 20 minutes.

Q: I have medium length wavy hair( 3" from shoulder). I would like to know how to straighten my hair at home. I tried shampooing, conditioning, applying mousse and blow drying. But still, the hair looks fuzzy. Please advise me. Also let me know if hair straightening can be done permanently in beauty parlor?

A: It is difficult to straighten the hair at home, specially since you have already tried a hair dryer. No, there is no way of changing the hair texture permanently. You will have to straighten the hair again, when the effect wears off. I hope you know that repeated hair perming or straightening can damage hair texture.

Q: My hair can't be set properly without the use of hair gel or cream. So I use either of them every day. Will this cause in hair fall??

A: Make sure that you use products of a reputed company. Perhaps, herbal hair setting preparations will be better. Whatever you use, you should shampoo your hair frequently, so that the gel/cream does not collect on the scalp and block the pores. This can lead to scalp infections or dandruff. Use less shampoo and rinse thoroughly with water.

Q: Dear Madam, My English is very weak so can i talk you in Hindi Madam mere face per bauth he problem hai mere mathe per chiks per sare chachia pad gaye hai bauth ilaj karwa chuki hu per thike nahi hote mai kaya karo Mere Age 28 hai per mere face ke skin itne kharab hai ke mai 40 year ke lagte hu please-100 koi tarika bata de mai aap ke bauth abhari hugi

A: First of all, you should apply a Sunscreen before going out in the sun. Reapply the sunscreen if you stay out in the sun for more than 20 minutes. After washing/cleansing the skin, take a mixture of rice flour (chaawal ka aata) and curd (dahi) and apply it on the dark patches and rub it gently on the skin. Leave on for 2 minutes and wash off with water. Apply Shawhite lotion on the dark areas. In the evening, apply Shafair on the dark areas. At night, after washing/cleansing, apply Shalife and massage it on the entire skin with a little water for 3 to 4 minutes. Wipe it off with moist cotton (geeli rui).

Q: hi my name is shreya .I have lot of acne on my face and scars due to acne .how to get rid of them. and my face is pale with out any glow .how to get that glow. please help me in these matters

A:
You need to use medicated products to control the condition, because it can spread and also cause extensive scarring. We have been treating acne in the following way: In the morning, cleanse face with Shazema, rinsing with plenty of water. Wipe with Sharose. Mix Shabase with Shasilk and apply on the entire face. Leave on as a daytime cover. Once a day mix Shaclove with Shaderm and apply only on the pimples/acne. At night, cleanse with Shazema. Apply Shaclear only on the pimples/acne and leave on all night. Apply Shablem on the scars by rubbing it into the skin and leave on all night. As a home remedy, apply curd on the face daily and wash it off after 20 minutes. You can do this before applying Shaclove/Shaderm, or at night, after cleansing and before applying Shaclear and Shablem. Avoid fried food, cola drinks and too many sweets. Drink 8 glasses of water daily and include fresh fruits, raw salads, sprouts and curd in your daily diet.

Q: what is facial? n is ko kasye kartey hai I mean what do we use for that n what do we do in facial?

A: A facial is a face treatment. You can have a facial at a beauty parlour. If your skin is dry, you will be given a face massage with cream. For oily skin, there will be cleansing, toning and mask. During a facial, the skin is cleansed thoroughly, massaged and toned. Then, a face mask is applied. Therefore, you need a cleanser according to your skin type, a skin tonic for toning the skin, a massage cream if your skin is dry and a face mask. You can buy products according to your skin type.

Q: I would like to do bleaching and facial at home myself. As I have small kids, I cannot spend time for beauty parlors. So can u please tell me what are the steps for bleaching and facial and what are the names of the creams to be used.

A: I do not advocate bleaching of the face. Therefore, I cannot tell you names of bleaching creams of ingredients. You can enquire at a good beauty parlor or cosmetic store regarding bleaching. For a home facial, first cleanse the skin, using a cleanser according to your skin type. If your skin is normal to dry, use Shacleanse. Then, dip cotton wool pads in a rose skin tonic (or Sharose) and use them to tone the skin, wiping and patting the skin. If you have dry skin, take a good nourishing cream, like Shalife, and apply on the skin. Then massage it into the skin, using circular strokes and slightly upward movements. Wipe off all cream with moist cotton wool. Then apply a face mask according to your skin type. Shayouth for normal to dry skin or Shatex for normal to oily skin. When it dries, wash off.

Q: I was told at one of the parlors that for split ends Hair Serums was good instead of conditioner. They not only repair the split ends but also gives life to the hair. If this is true, Where does one get these serums. Buying them out of Parlors wld be expensive for middle class section. Thanks Subbalakshmi

A: You should also enquire if the hair serum will prevent split ends in the future. You should take some preventive care by first cutting off the split ends and then giving your hair weekly treatments with warm oil, along with weekly henna treatments. Avoid the use of rubber bands and hold hair dryers at least 10 inches away. It is better to allow the hair to dry naturally. Include sprouts and yogurt in your daily diet. Hair colorants and permanent wave lotions can also lead to dry hair and split ends. If you wish to buy the hair serum, you will have to enquire at cosmetic or chemist shops.

Q: Hi my hair are very thin an light. they are light brown color and when i don't apply hair oil, they look very rough. is there anything tht u can suggest for my hair to make them look healthy.

A: Regular conditioning with henna will give the hair more body and make it healthier. Mix 4 teaspoons each of lemon juice and coffee, 2 raw eggs (optional) and enough curd to the henna powder. You can also add one tablespoon of dry amla powder to the henna. Ask your doctor to prescribe vitamin and mineral supplements. Include sprouts in your daily diet.

Q: Hello, I am a 23 year old female and I have a normal skin but my skin gets oily around the cheeks as the day goes along and I don't germ to cleanse it as i am at work. I get pimples once in a while, I don't touch them but I use a tomato scrub everyday to help prevent pimples but as the pimples get dry they leave blemishes(scars) and it takes a long time for these to go. Is there anywhere I can prevent these scars.

A: Wipe your skin, specially the oily areas two or three times a day with Sharose, using cotton wool. Use cleansers which are meant for oily skin. Sharose would also help to keep the skin clean and reduce oiliness. Whenever you get pimples, apply Shaclear on it at night and leave on overnight. It would help to avoid scarring. Do not use scrubs on pimples.

Q: Dear Madam, Please let me know treatment for getting rid of blemishes Thanks&Regards Surabhi srivastava

A: What are these blemishes? Is it skin pigmentation (dark patches), or marks left by pimples? And what is your skin type? Please send details for a reply.

Q: I am a working women. I have long hair,  but I  am unable to manage them. I even can't make a proper hair style. If I try to do so it does not come properly.

A. Actually long hair needs more care in order to look manageable and healthy. You could give your hair weekly henna treatments, mixing the henna powder with 2 raw eggs, 4 teaspoons each of lemon juice and coffee and enough yogurt to mix into a paste. This helps to keep the hair in good condition. You can also try to put up your hair in a french knot or a top knot, using attractive ornamental clips. In order to leave it open, you need to give it regular care with oil and henna treatments and also have a nutritious diet.
